EXTENDED PLAY FOR NATIONAL PINBALL MUSEUM

Washington, DC, June 30, 2011

National Pinball Museum has negotiated a short-term lease extension at the Shops at Georgetown Park. The Museum will now maintain operations including exhibits, parties and pinball in their current location through Labor Day. The community can continue to experience an unmatched collection that celebrates America's rich history of pinball, and take advantage of the Museum's discounted pricing through September 5, 2011.

Located inside The Shops at Georgetown Park, 3222 M Street NW, National Pinball Museum has a collection of over 850 machines with 200 currently on exhibit in their galleries. Visitors are transported through time in a Jurassic-themed life-size playfield and a history walk that depicts the first 140 years of pinball. In the Pay-to-Play exhibit, visitors can play 40 machines ranging from classic, vintage woodrail games to modern solid state machines. And, a private party room invites families and businesses to host unique events for pinball fans of all ages.

The Museum is open: Thursday, 12PM to 8 PM, Friday, 12PM to 10PM; Saturday, 10AM to 10PM; Sunday, Noon to 6PM; with special Independence Day hours for Monday, July 4 from Noon to 6PM. Admission is $3 (children under age 9 are admitted free) with games at $.75 per play.

National Pinball Museum is continuing its search for a new, permanent home and is accepting in-kind and cash donations to help with its relocation expenses. For more information about the Museum and its collection, visit www.nationalpinballmuseum.org.

Founded in 1998, National Pinball Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the art and history of pinball - a true American pastime. The Museum's programs include interactive exhibits, a library, and education and outreach for the community.

Go Figure

"Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for 'better treatment?' I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth you'd probably be able to get a lot of free games."
—Jack Handy
